The Optics® Platinum Networks optical jumpers are made up of two optical fibers of variable length, protected by a sheath, and equipped at each end with an optical connector. In order to solve all the connectivity problems between a device and an optical cabinet (or drawer), the connectors are not always the same at each end.
Multimode fiber optic equipment and components are less expensive than their single-mode counterparts, so OM3 50/125 multimode fiber optic jumpers (or optical patch cords) are widely used in systems where connections need to be made inexpensively.
